COVID-19 Guideline Protocols

Your safety is—and has always been—our number one priority. ARÊTE Performance & Rehab has implemented the following policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of clinicians, patients, and the community based on the BC Health Authority, WorkSafeBC, and the BCAK.

Please take a moment to read what we are doing to ensure everyone's safety. We’re thankful for your support as we work to get through this together. Thank you!

What We're Doing for Our Patients:

Prior to your appointment:

Patients will receive a call, text, or email (as preferred) from their therapist with the COVID-19 Pre-Screening Questionnaire one day prior to their appointment and are required to complete the questionnaire prior to the start of their appointment. This mandatory screening questionnaire will be asked again upon arrival.

Questions include:

  • Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms:

    • fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, new muscle aches or headaches, sore throat

  • Have you traveled outside of Canada (including the United States) within the last 14 days?

  • Did you provide care or have close contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19?

If you answer "Yes" to any of the pre-screening questions and/or you are feeling ill, you will be asked to re-schedule and self-isolate for 14 days. We recommend that you contact your local health authority at 8-1-1 or visit find out if you or your family members need further assessment or testing for COVID-19.

If you are feeling ill, please contact us to book a virtual session instead or re-schedule. No Cancellation Fees will be charged at this time. Please also self-isolate immediately and contact 8-1-1 for further information and instructions.

During your appointment:

We are implementing the following procedures to ensure you are safe while experiencing the same quality care!

  1. Hand sanitize upon arrival and departure.

  2. Masks on. As of November 19, 2020, new Provincial Health Orders include mandatory masks in indoor public and retail settings.

  3. Social Distance (when possible). We may not always be 6 ft apart to provide hands-on treatment. We will maintain a safe social distance when we can.

  4. All equipment and tools that you use during your appointment have been sanitized before use and will be sanitized after use.

  5. Arrive dressed for your appointment.

  6. Wait outside. If you arrive early, we ask that you wait outside our doors or in your vehicle to minimize the number of people in the facility. You will be greeted by your therapist at the start of your appointment.

What We're Doing for Our Therapists:

  • All therapists are screened daily prior to the start of their shift.

  • Our partnered gym facilities have implemented strict COVID-19 guidelines to pass the BC Health Authority Standards and ensure all visitors are safe.

  • Wearing PPE (masks)

  • When possible, sessions will be spaced out when held in one of our partnered gym spaces. It will also be spaced out for scheduling to minimize the number of people in the facility.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation during this time. We're all in this together so let's continue to work together to get through this together! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at

Thank you!
